Very cool video. What are those bullets used at the 8:40 ish part of this? They seem to not penetrate at all and it looks like they vaporize. What is that ammo? Anybody know much about the effects of those bullets on animals?

Those are all full metal jacketed, lead core bullets.

That is what happens when you hit steel at 1000 - 3000 ft/sec.

A lot of the lead will vaporize......most will just become fantastically small lead particles. This is why indoor shooting ranges must have expensive filtration units. A lot of ranges now use shreaded tires as a backstop.

As you can see - even fairly slow pistol bullets dont like steel.

My favorite segment is the bullets striking the corner of the block and shaving in half. I like how they experiment with varying degrees of cross-sectional impact. The bullets do not behave as I would expect them to at all. I am very impressed with their ability to control the accuracy of the strikes.
